How to Get There

The reenactment is at the Rich Mountain Battlefield Civil War Site, 6.5 miles west of Beverly, Randolph County, West Virginia. The nearest town with motels and services is Elkins, which is 10 minutes north of Beverly and at least a 30-minute drive from the reenactment site.

To reach the reenactment from Beverly, turn WEST onto Rich Mountain Road, follow the permanent signs 5 miles to the battlefield at the top of the mountain, then keep going 1 1/2 miles further west to the reenactment site at Camp Garnett (at the western base of the mountain.)

Coming from the west, exit from the 4-lane Route 33 at the Harding exit (7 miles west of Elkins) onto secondary route 151. Follow the roadway across the bridge, then turn left at Norton. Continue on this road about 4 miles, then turn left to Mabie and go 2 miles, then bear left onto Rich Mountain Road. The site is about a mile farther; go past the battle area and Field of Fire Park to find registration and camps. Directional signs for this route will be in place Friday, but pay attention - coming in through Norton and Mabie can be tricky without very good maps.
